Curious where our Chazlaw Affix comes from?

Ch from Chance

az from Jazmine (as it's pronounced)

Law from our initials & surname (Linda Alan Wild).

We wanted to ensure that are two eldest dogs were incorporated in our affix as we owe everything to them for our future generations of White GSD

We are Linda and Alan Wild and we live in the Robin Hood County of Nottingham. Our love of this breed goes back over 35 years when as an anniversary present for Alan, I bought our first German Shepherd.  This puppy was a standard coat silver sable who we named Blue and to this day we have never seen another like her. She had the sweetest nature and was devoted to our two children, she only had one litter and we kept a boy Rebel from it, and he was a Rebel by name and by nature.   Unfortunately we lost him suddenly at 7 years of age which left us feeling devastated and it was to be several years before we started looking for another German Shepherd to have in our home

Although we loved the GSD, we decided that we did not want another that was similar in appearance to Rebel or Blue so it was this that first inspired us to look for a white puppy, as Alan remembered seeing a white gsd years ago, but it took several months to find a breeder that had a litter of white puppies but finally we found one- Mrs. E. Boreham to whom we shall always be eternally grateful, a male puppy chose us for his family and we called him Chance.

From the very first day of having Chance, we were besotted with him. Everyone we met fell in love with this charming bundle of white fluff. He always loved people and was especially gentle with young children. Not once did he ever show any kind of aggression towards anyone and because of this we were determined that we would have a puppy from him.

We have since had four generations, all living together under the same roof, all of them with their own characters, each of them quite individual. You can read more about Chance, Jasmine, Angel and Thorn and now baby Chanel on their own pages.

Sadly we have lost both Chance and Jasmine and we continue to miss them daily and we will always be grateful to them as its from them that we were able to establish our Chazlaw line, and their remaining family continues to give them credit for the truly wonderful dogs that they were.

It is true that you can never replace a lost family member but you can see little bits of them in the family we have left. We do not breed very often and in fact we have only had 3 litters in the 15 years since we got Chance. We added our latest puppy, Chanel, to our family in 2006 and we plan in the future to have a puppy from Chanel and Thorn in order to carry on our line.   Chanel had a slip mating with Thorn and for several weeks we were unsure as to whether there were any puppies at all, but a scan showed there was at least one puppy possibly more, the way GSD carry its not always that easy to see at this early stage exactly how many puppies are there.   When the puppies were due we were so excited, but this turned to concern when no puppies arrived and although I could still feel movement I was concerned both for the puppies but more for my sweet Chanel I could not risk anything happening to her.   She was booked for a C section and Friday 30th October, our beautiful puppy Cashmere arrived and both mother and puppy were well, although several people had wanted a puppy there was absolutely no way I could have ever parted with her, and I think all the people understood how I felt and I do thank them all for showing such concern when they were so disappointed themselves.

We have very active lives with our gang: We show all the dogs at White and Long Coat Shows (WALCSS) when we are able to get, work together at Obedience Competitions with Thorn, and  Chanel and hopefully at the end of the season should see Cashmere taking to the ring.  Angel has now been retired although she will always come to the shows with us, she has earned her retirement and at 11 1/2 having won us out of Beginner and becoming Beg Ex she now deserves to have the pleasure of the shows without the stress of working.

We are also active members of a dog display team for fund raising events. It is my hope that Chanel and maybe
Cashmere will also carry on the tradition set by Chance and Jasmine and become a registered Pets As Therapy (PAT) dog.
