Well 2009 is with us and Chanel had her first outing Easter weekend and what a weekend, although we didn't win any rosettes I was so proud of her on Good Friday she worked really well in her first Novice and lost a total of 4 1/2 and completed her stays. I was so proud of her, the judge commented her recall was the fastest of the day she was like a little rocket. Easter Monday she had forgotten how to do a recall and felt the need to go out of the ring to say hello to the passing dogs. Little madam, then you start doubting yourself don't you did I give all the right commands did I do it as in practice and end up blaming yourself, she surely wouldn't do it deliberately would she??? Not to be out done by this youngster we are booked into a weekend show in May, if she does it again she's being re-homed any takers?? Thought not you all have more sense.
Angel did her usual work she does love her days out, although I am sad to say she is beginning to show her age a little now, she will be 11 in August, the time has flown by. I always know she will be ready for the ring anytime I ask her she adores obedience and if the other 2 only gave a 1/4 of what she does we would be in C by now. I have made the decision that my little Angel will retire from competition although she will continue come with us to shows whilst she is fit and able to do so as I truly believe it would destroy her if the other 2 went out without her. I owe so much to this little bitch, she has given me the confidence to compete, and she has taught me so much which means I have more idea of what am doing & where I have made costly mistakes with her. Now its all up to Thorn & Chanel.
Thorn did a nice round both days, he does try for me but he worries a lot especially when dogs are playing bouncing up and down and growling near him. To them its all good fun, but poor Thorn just can not cope with it I am sure he sees them as a threat and because he is such a big boy I am on edge too which does not give the best working partnership.
May 2009
The weekend at Norfolk was a good show although it was a new club old venue it was done well and we really had a good weekend, and the weather was kind too.
Thorn had a good round both days just out of the rosettes again, and Chanel managed to recalls both days which was a relief I must admit I hold my breath when madam sits there on her own looking as though butter wouldnt melt. Her rounds were ok, but we have to work on the attention. Angel worked as she does normally but her precision isnt there and her sits are slowing now, which is the main reasons for her retirement.
Sept 2009
We had another great weekend at Blofield I do love this venue, and to make things even better Chanel won her first ever rosette, she got best GSD in one of the Novice classes and she managed an out of sight stay and scent in her first A round so I was really pleased with her.
Sept 2010
Few rosettes and a couple of best GSD placings but that first place still not acheived.
Sept 2011
Had several placings of 3rd's 4th's and a 2nd that 1st AHHHH its so hard to get everything right, but I will continue to try my hardest, but to be honest mum is bit more chilled now and we just enjoy getting out and meeting the other lovely obedience folk and dogs.
Jan 2012
We have actually got a home on wheels now so its much cosier and comfortable, and when it rains we can get dry. I love sitting next to mum and looking out the window between competing and stays, really looking forward to this season just Isa and Cashmere to look after now live is not so demanding. Good luck everyone for the coming season.
