Well 2008 has started with our first show this season March 2008, and all did not go according to my plans.
Angel did her very first A round we were drawn first and even though this is not good news for Angel as she normally takes a while to calm down before going in the ring, she is much better in the afternoon, I was really pleased with her efforts. Her a recall was good and she held a constant position.
Thorn did not have such a good start as I managed to miss his stays, you know I think sometimes he must know he would do much better without Mum mucking things up for him.
Chanel Chanel the puppy from hell, continues to be just that, it is the first time I have had the embarrassment of one of mine shooting out of the ring on a recall and doing the wall of death round 2 rings finally coming back and standing grinning at me. Many thanks to the judge and steward who first of all didn't snigger and secondly gave me some very sound advice on how to help my little one be a good girl. Also many apologies to the lady in the other ring who was trying to work her dog, I am soo sorry. Having said all this she did do her stays without so much as lifting a paw, proving that she can do something right even if its only not moving.

Angel did a good A round unfortunately I lost more points than she did, thank you judge for pointing out where I am losing marks, you are right it is a big change from Novice and Angel has promised to make me work on this. Seriously I really did not realise how slight movements of the head can be so costly, Angel says its a good job I am not marked for talking in everyday life I would constantly be disqualified.
Thorn did a good round and I am pleased with him as he does try although he sometimes lacks confidence I think, his recall and retrieve was good so overall he did well. Managed his stays too, we were out of the place rosettes today my boy, but you did get best gsd.......
Chanel well, although I had booked her in to work I have decided that we really must work on Chanels concentration as at the moment she doesn't seem to have any. I have decided its unfair to keep entering her when she is such a baby, and this season I will work on her outside the rings and stay ring so that she gets the feel of what its like being at a obedience show. Its unfair to put such pressure on her and I want her to enjoy her days at the shows, so for now its practice practice practice for our baby.
